Half back, full back, or back and shoulders

Half back treats either the upper or lower half, whichever carries the hair. Full back covers from the shoulder line to the waist. Back + shoulders adds the tops of the shoulders and the shoulder blades for a clean line into the arms, and is a men's favourite.

Back hair is typically dark and dense, which makes it an ideal laser target. Because the area is large and the skin is thick, most clients find it one of the more comfortable areas to treat, and sessions move quickly with the Candela laser's larger spot size.

Men make up most of our back clients, and we treat women's backs too. Both have their own booking buttons above and open directly in the Booksy calendar.

What a session is like

  1. Before. Shave your back the day before, or let us know when booking if you need help with that; we can trim at the start of your session. No waxing for four weeks and no sun or tanning beds for two weeks.
  2. During. You lie face down while the specialist matches the settings to your skin and hair and works across the back in sections. About twenty minutes for a full back, thirty with shoulders.
  3. After. Redness for a few hours is common and a mild sunburn feeling can last a day. Avoid hot showers, saunas and heavy workouts for 24 hours, wear a soft shirt, and let the treated hairs shed naturally.

Questions

I can't shave my own back. What do I do before the session?

Tell us when you book. We can trim the area at the start of your appointment, with a few extra minutes added. Please do not wax beforehand, since the laser needs the hair root in place.

How many sessions does a back need?

Most clients need six to eight sessions, several weeks apart. Back hair is coarse and dark, so results are usually visible after the first two or three. Individual results vary.

Does back laser hair removal hurt?

The skin on the back is thick, so most clients find it among the more comfortable areas. Each pulse is a brief warm snap. Tell your specialist if you would like the settings adjusted.

What is included in back + shoulders?

The full back plus the tops of the shoulders and shoulder blades, for a clean line into the upper arms. It is a separate Booksy service with its own booking button above; the price is confirmed by the studio at booking.
